SOMERSET...PISCATAQUIS...PENOBSCOT...WASHINGTON AND HANCOCK COUNTIES...  ...RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINS CAUSE MINOR FLOODING ACROSS THE AREA...  RAINFALL AMOUNTS HAVE RANGED FROM FOUR INCHES IN COASTAL HANCOCK COUNTY TO TWO INCHES IN THE NORTH.  LOWLAND FLOODING CONTINUES IN ALL AREAS..AND NUMEROUS ROAD CLOSURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.  THIS HEAVY RAIN HAS FLOODED MANY SMALLER STREAMS...BROOKS AND DRAINAGES...AND RISES IN THE MAINSTEM RIVERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND.  IN THE NORTH...LIGHT RAIN AND STUBBORN SNOWMELT CONTINUE TO ADD TO THE RUNOFF.  MINOR FLOODING CONTINUES ON THE FISH RIVER...BUT THE ALLAGASH...AROOSTOOK AND ST. JOHN RIVERS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FLOOD STAGE.  DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY...TURN AROUND...DON'T DROWN!  $$  MAT
