..COASTAL FLOOD WARNING UNTIL 400 AM EDT WEDNESDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY ME HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD
WARNING.

THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS...LARGE WAVES...AND HIGH
ASTRONOMICAL TIDES WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS IN LOW LYING COASTAL SECTIONS
TONIGHT.

EXPECT COASTAL FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH
TIDE TONIGHT. TIDES ARE EXPECTED TO RUN ABOUT ONE AND A HALF FEET
ABOVE NORMAL. THE NORMALLY HIGH ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDE TONIGHT AT
PORTLAND HARBOR IS 11.1 FEET AND OCCURS AT 1216 AM...BUT COMBINED
WITH THE STORM SURGE A TIDE OF 12 TO 12 1/2 FEET IS EXPECTED.
FLOODING OCCURS IN PORTLAND HARBOR WITH A 12 FOOT TIDE.

PERSONS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS ALONG THE NEW HAMPSHIRE COAST AND ALONG
THE MAINE COAST SOUTH OF PORTLAND SHOULD MONITOR WATER LEVELS
CLOSELY.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO AND OTHER LOCAL MEDIA FOR FURTHER
DETAILS OR UPDATES.

THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS...LARGE WAVES...AND HIGH
ASTRONOMICAL TIDES MAY CAUSE FLOODING IN LOW LYING COASTAL SECTIONS
TONIGHT.

COASTAL FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION ARE POSSIBLE AROUND THE TIME OF

EROSION OCCURRED ALONG THE SOUTHWEST MAINE COAST. THE NORMAL HIGH
TIDE TONIGHT AT ROCKALND IS 11.6 FEET AT 1207 AM.

PERSONS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS ALONG THE NEW HAMPSHIRE COAST AND ALONG
THE MAINE COAST AS FAR EAST AS WALDO COUNTY SHOULD MONITOR WATER
LEVELS CLOSELY.
