AN UNUSUAL SPRING TIME NOREASTER WILL BRING MODERATE COASTAL
FLOODING TO EAST COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS DURING THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE
TONIGHT AND EARLY WEDNESDAY.

..A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR EAST COASTAL
MASSACHUSETTS FOR TONIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...

FOR EAST COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS THIS COASTAL FLOOD WARNING INCLUDES
NEWBURYPORT...GLOUCESTER HARBOR...MARBLEHEAD...BOSTON
HARBOR...SCITUATE...PLYMOUTH...SANDWICH...PROVINCETOWN...CHATHAM
OUTER HARBOR...NANTUCKET HARBOR.

THE COMBINATION OF INCREASING NORTHEAST WINDS TONIGHT...BUILDING
SEAS TO 20 TO 25 FEET OFFSHORE...ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH TIDES...AND
AROUND A 2 FOOT STORM SURGE WILL YIELD MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING
TO EAST COAST MASSACHUSETTS TONIGHT AND EARLY WEDNESDAY. THE CULPRIT
IS A LATE SEASON NOREASTER THAT WILL GENERATE THE HIGH WINDS...HIGH
SEAS...AND HIGH STORM SURGE. THE ASTRONOMICALLY PREDICTED HIGH TIDES
ARE THE RESULT OF A FULL MOON THAT OCCURRED ON MONDAY MAY 23...BUT
IS STILL AFFECTING THE TIDAL CYCLE.

FOR GLOUCESTER HARBOR NO OBSERVED STAGE IS AVAILABLE. A STORM TIDE
OF 12.5 IS FORECAST AROUND 1 AM WEDNESDAY. AT TIDE ELEVATIONS NEAR
12.0 FEET MLLW...COASTAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG THE NORTH SHORE
FROM GLOUCESTER TO NEWBURYPORT. WAVE ACTION WILL CAUSE FLOODING ON
SOME COASTAL ROADS AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.

FOR BOSTON HARBOR THE LATEST STAGE IS 9 FEET AT 230 PM TUESDAY. A
STORM TIDE OF 13.8 IS FORECAST AROUND 1 AM WEDNESDAY. AT TIDE
ELEVATIONS NEAR 13.5 FEET MLLW...MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING COASTAL
LOCATIONS IS EXPECTED FROM REVERE AND WINTHROP SOUTHWARD THROUGH
HULL. THE COMBINATION OF HIGH TIDES AND LARGE SWELLS WILL RESULT IN
WASHOVER ONTO COASTAL ROADWAYS AND SOME ROAD CLOSURES MAY OCCUR
AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.

FOR SCITUATE NO OBSERVED STAGE IS AVAILABLE. A STORM TIDE OF 12.8
IS FORECAST AROUND 1 AM WEDNESDAY. AT TIDE ELEVATIONS NEAR 12.5
FEET MLLW...MINOR FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION IS EXPECTED ACROSS LOW
LYING SECTIONS OF COHASSET...SCITUATE AND MARSHFIELD. IMMEDIATE
COASTAL ROADS MAY BE IMPASSABLE FOR A TIME NEAREST THE TIME OF HIGH
TIDE.

FOR THE SANDWICH NO OBSERVED STAGE IS AVAILABLE. A STORM TIDE OF
12.7 IS FORECAST AROUND 1 AM WEDNESDAY. AT TIDE ELEVATIONS NEAR
12.0 FEET MLLW...MINOR FLOODING OF LOW LYING COASTAL SECTIONS IN
CAPE COD BAY IS EXPECTED. SOME IMMEDIATE COASTAL ROADS MAY BE
FLOODED FOR A SHORT TIME NEAREST HIGH TIDE DUE TO LARGE SURF AND
HIGH TIDES.

FOR THE CHATHAM OUTER HARBOR NO OBSERVED STAGE IS AVAILABLE. A
STORM TIDE OF 10.0 IS FORECAST AROUND 1 AM WEDNESDAY. AT TIDE
ELEVATIONS NEAR 9.0 FEET MLLW...FLOODING OF LOWEST LYING COASTAL
AREAS IS LIKELY. SOME IMMEDIATE COASTAL ROADS MAY BE FLOODED
NEAREST THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE. LARGE SWELLS MAY ALSO PRODUCE SOME
LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION.

FOR NANTUCKET HARBOR THE LATEST STAGE IS 3.9 FEET AT 3 PM TUESDAY.
A STORM TIDE OF 6.0 IS FORECAST AROUND 2 AM WEDNESDAY. AT TIDE
ELEVATIONS NEAR 6.0 FEET MLLW...MINOR FLOODING OF NANTUCKET HARBOR
IS EXPECTED. SOME LOW LYING COASTAL ROADS MAY EXPERIENCE FLOODING
FOR A BRIEF TIME NEAREST THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.

OF NOTE...DUE TO AN EXPECTED PROLONGED NORTHEAST WIND FLOW...MULTIPLE
SUCCESSIVE HIGH TIDE CYCLES COULD INCLUDE THE POTENTIAL FURTHER
ROUNDS OF MINOR TO MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING ALONG EAST COASTAL
MASSACHUSETTS DURING SUBSEQUENT HIGH TIDE CYCLES WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...EARLY THURSDAY MORNING...THEN AGAIN EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.

IMMINENT. ANYONE WITH INTERESTS ALONG THE COAST INCLUDED IN THIS
WARNING MUST TAKE ACTION NOW TO PROTECT PROPERTY. THE COMBINATION
OF LARGE SURF AND HIGH TIDES WILL RESULT IN FLOODING OF ROADWAYS AND
ALTERNATE ROUTES MAY BE NEEDED.
