..A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS EARLY
WEDNESDAY MORNING...

AN UNUSUALLY STRONG LATE MAY NOREASTER IS EXPECTED TO BRING A MODERATE
COASTAL FLOODING
EVENT AT THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...WHICH OCCURS
BETWEEN
MIDNIGHT AND 2 AM WEDNESDAY.

NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AND PARTICULARLY TONIGHT
ALONG THE COAST.
SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 40 MPH...WITH SCATTERED GUSTS TO BETWEEN 50 AND
60 MPH ARE
EXPECTED TONIGHT. THIS WILL RAPIDLY BUILD THE SEAS TO NEAR 20 FEET. THE
HIGH SEAS AND
STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH A 1.5 TO 2 FOOT STORM SURGE TO
BRING A MODERATE
COASTAL FLOOD EVENT TO THE REGION.

IT WILL BE A COASTAL FLOOD THAT IS LIKELY TO CLOSE A FEW OF THE TYPICALLY
VULNERABLE SHORE
ROADS FOR POSSIBLY AN HOUR OR 2 EITHER SIDE OF HIGH TIDE. THERE IS ALSO
THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME
PROPERTY AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.

DUE TO AN EXPECTED PROLONGED NORTHEAST WIND FLOW...MULTIPLE SUCCESSIVE
HIGH TIDE CYCLES
COULD INCLUDE THE POTENTIAL FOR AT LEAST MINOR COASTAL FLOODING ALONG
EAST COASTAL
MASSACHUSETTS DURING HIGH TIDE EARLY THURSDAY MORNING...THEN AGAIN EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING.
