AN UNUSUALLY LONG DURATION AND STRONG WINTERLIKE COASTAL STORM WILL
IMPACT MUCH OF RHODE ISLAND AND EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS THROUGH
THURSDAY. STRONG NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL BE CAUSING SCATTERED
POWER OUTAGES AND POSSIBLY PROPERTY DAMAGE FROM FALLING LIMBS AND
WIRES TONIGHT THROUGH MIDDAY WEDNESDAY.

RESIDENTS ON AND NEAR CAPE COD AND NANTUCKET SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
THE POSSIBILITY FOR LONG DURATION POWER OUTAGES...ESPECIALLY
WEDNESDAY MORNING.

WEDNESDAY FOR COASTAL EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS INCLUDING BOSTON QUINCY
PLYMOUTH AND CAPE ANN...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON MA HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WARNING.

NORTHEAST WINDS WHICH DURING MID AFTERNOON WERE ALREADY GUSTING TO 45
MPH ON PARTS OF THE EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS COAST WILL INCREASE FURTHER
THIS EVENING. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 35 TO 40 MPH ARE FORECAST AT TIMES
LATE TONIGHT OR WEDNESDAY MORNING... WITH SCATTERED GUSTS TO NEAR 60
MPH. THESE WINDS COMBINED WITH RAIN SOFTENED GROUND ARE LIKELY TO
BREAK TREE LIMBS...POSSIBLY UPROOTING A FEW TREES AND CAUSING
SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES IN PARTS OF THE BOSTON METRO AREA INCLUDING
THE NORTH AND SOUTH SHORES.

THE STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE...
ESPECIALLY HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SUCH AS VANS...RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
AND TRACTOR TRAILERS. BE CAREFUL WHEN DRIVING OVER BRIDGES OR
OVERPASSES.

HAVE EXTRA BATTERIES AND FLASHLIGHTS READY IN CASE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
LOSES POWER.
